Gut-wrenching performances; well earned results! This was the theme of the day for our athletes representing their schools at South OFSAA regionals.

Katie Johnson ran a quick 3rd leg of the Junior women’s 4x100m relay while keeping the competition close and cleanly handing off to Nicole McKenzie. Nicole was able to bring it home for 1st place in their heat.

Nicole also ran the Midget women’s 200m and 400m. Hitting a PB in each event, she was able to capture the top spot in both sprints. Both Katie and Nicole represent St. Marcellinus Secondary School.

Kaycee Martin ran both the 100m and 80mH Midget women’s events. While the 100m did not work out as planned, Kaycee was able to advance to the 80mH finals and then finish 3rd overall with a huge PB. Kaycee represents Loyola Catholic Secondary School.

Shai Cuffy ran in the Junior women’s 4x100m relay and was able to run a strong 2nd leg helping her team secure a 2nd place overall. Shai also threw in the Midget women’s Javelin and was able to muscle out her best throw on her 6th and final throw to capture 4th spot. Shai represents Our Lady of Mount Carmel.

Congratulations to all 4 ladies on qualifying to compete at OFSAA, the pinnacle of high school sports in Ontario. This is a huge accomplishment!
